Wolfspeed to Build Multi-Billion Dollar Chip Factory in Germany

Wolfspeed Inc, a U.S. power chip maker, is planning to build a factory in Germany for over 2 billion euros.

The German auto supplier ZF will hold a minority stake in the project. Production at the site, located in the small southwest German state of Saarland, is expected to begin in four years.

A spokesperson for the economics ministry of Saarland declined to comment. Wolfspeed and ZF did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
