Microsoft to Cut Thousands of Jobs

According to a report by U.K. broadcaster Sky News, Microsoft plans to cut about 5% of its workforce, or about 11,000 roles.

This is the latest in a series of retrenchment exercises by technology companies, including Amazon and Meta Platforms, in response to slowing demand.

Microsoft Recruiting Staff to be Cut by One-Third

According to a separate report by Insider, Microsoft could cut recruiting staff by as much as one-third, even as many teams have initiated a hiring freeze. Microsoft had 221,000 full-time employees as of June 30th and had previously announced in July that a small number of roles had been eliminated.
