The company has stated that there has been significant damage to the infrastructure, and they are looking to divert ships as needed, given the complete stop of all operations until further notice. They plan to divert containers to nearby hubs within operational feasibility or hold them at transshipment ports.

German container shipping line Hapag Lloyd has reported that it is taking shipments from Mersin due to the closure of Iskenderun. A source from a container broker said the fire most likely started in a container filled with flammable industrial oil, judging by the flames and smoke.

According to Turkey's maritime authority, operations continue in ports apart from Iskenderun. Turkey's Ceyhan port is ready to resume Iraqi crude oil loadings from storage, but bad weather prevents vessels from berthing.
