German Stock Market Closes Mixed; DAX Gains 0.03%

Germany stocks displayed mixed performance at the close on Thursday. The Retail, Software, and Transportation & Logistics sectors experienced gains, while the Technology, Financial Services, and Chemicals sectors witnessed losses.

Index Performances at Close

The DAX index in Frankfurt closed with a 0.03% increase, the MDAX index gained 0.52%, and the TecDAX index declined by 0.06%.

Top and Bottom Performers on DAX

Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ENR1n) emerged as the best performer on the DAX, rising 2.98% to close at 21.77. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR: DB1Gn) was the worst performer, falling 7.73% to 169.00.

MDAX and TecDAX Top and Worst Performers

Delivery Hero AG (ETR: DHER) led the MDAX index with a 9.92% gain, while Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn) was the worst performer, declining 8.88%. On the TecDAX index, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR: NEKG) rose 9.23%, while Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn) was the worst performer again, down 8.88%.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 349 to 309, with 93 remaining unchanged. Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ENR1n) reached a 52-week high, while Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR: VBKG) fell to a 52-week low.

DAX Volatility Index and Commodity Performance

The DAX volatility index, measuring the implied volatility of DAX options, declined 3.05% to 17.83. Gold Futures for June delivery increased 0.07% to $1,997.35 a troy ounce, while Crude oil for June delivery rose 0.93% to $74.99 a barrel.

Forex Market Update

EUR/USD remained unchanged at 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP remained unchanged at 0.27% to 0.88. The U.S. Dollar Index Futures saw a 0.15% increase to 101.36.
