Bullish Momentum for France's CAC 40 and SBF 120

The French stock market had a robust showing on Monday as it closed, with the CAC 40 index and the SBF 120 index gaining 0.52% and 0.51%, respectively. The upswing was led by impressive performance in the Utilities, Industrials, and Consumer Goods sectors.

Top Gainers and Losers in the CAC 40

The CAC 40's top performers for the day included Teleperformance SE, Capgemini SE, and Hermes International SCA, recording rises of 3.89%, 3.12%, and 3.01%, respectively. On the other hand, TotalEnergies SE, Vivendi SA, and Orange SA emerged as the session's worst performers, registering losses of 1.82%, 1.67%, and 1.31%, respectively.

Performance Overview of SBF 120's Stocks

On the SBF 120, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA, Nexans SA, and Voltalia SA stood out as top performers, with gains of 10.28%, 8.02%, and 7.15%, respectively. Meanwhile, SES, Altarea SCA, and Atos SE were the biggest losers, with SES falling to an all-time low, dropping 14.59%.

The general sentiment on the Paris Stock Exchange was optimistic, with rising stocks outnumbering declining ones by 291 to 219 and 113 remaining unchanged. SES (EPA: SESFd) and Altarea SCA (EPA: IMAF) hit significant lows.

CAC 40 VIX and Commodities Update

The CAC 40 VIX, which gauges the anticipated volatility of CAC 40 options, remained steady at 18.96, marking a new 52-week high. In commodities trading, Gold futures for August delivery slid by 0.46%, while July's Crude oil delivery and the August Brent oil contract fell by 3.81% and 3.42%, respectively.

In the currency market, the EUR/USD and EUR/GBP pairings remained unchanged at 1.07 and 0.86, respectively, while the US Dollar Index Futures climbed by 0.16% to settle at 103.31.
