The search is being conducted with the president's full support and cooperation. Biden's lawyer, Bob Bauer, stated that the search is "a further step in a thorough and timely DOJ process."
Department of Justice Investigating Classified Documents Found at Biden Locations
The Department of Justice is investigating the discovery of classified documents at a private office in Washington, D.C., used by Biden while a private citizen and at his Wilmington, Delaware residence.

The FBI searched the think tank office in mid-November and Biden's Wilmington home on Jan. 20. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel, Robert Hur, to oversee the investigation into the Biden documents.
Former President Donald Trump Also Investigated for Classified Records
The Department of Justice is also investigating former President Donald Trump for a trove of classified records found at his Florida home after he left office. FBI agents found those documents during a raid at Mar-a-Lago on Aug. 9.
Lawyers for former Vice President Mike Pence recently notified the National Archives and Records Administration that they found a "small number" of classified documents at his home in Carmel, Indiana.
