Gas Inventory Levels Remain Unchanged Across Europe
Gas inventory levels at storage facilities across Europe have remained roughly the same over the past three weeks when countries normally use their reserves.
LNG Imports to Europe may be Redirected
European gas costs have almost halved over the past month, leading to concerns that liquefied natural gas could be sent to other destinations. LNG imports have been critical in replacing some gas supplies amidst reduced flows from Russia. Still, with lower prices, the fuel has become affordable in Asia again, and it is more profitable for US sellers to send cargo to Asia in February and March.
Dutch Front-Month Futures Drop 1% Lower
Dutch front-month futures traded 1% lower at €73.50 a megawatt-hour by 8:20 a.m. in Amsterdam.
