The union, representing around 1,000 workers at the two plants, did not disclose the number of workers who voted against the multi-year deal. Union members complained that the deal did not provide enough pay increases, additional vacation days, or better healthcare coverage. UAW officials had previously warned that rejection of the offer was likely. CNH officials were not available for comment. The UAW has claimed that the company had called the offer its "last, best, and final" one.
