The British government has announced that it will not proceed with the planned legislation to override some post-Brexit trade rules for Northern Ireland. In a statement released on Monday, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's office confirmed that the UK and the EU have come to a negotiated agreement, which has led to the abandonment of the bill.
New Deal Reached Between Britain and EU
The statement further stated that the new deal also means that the EU will withdraw all legal actions it has launched against Britain. The UK and the EU have agreed to work together to anticipate and deal with any other issues that may emerge and have made a joint declaration to resolve issues through dialogue rather than formal dispute proceedings.
