Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index finished higher on Thursday as gains in the Metals & Mining, Resources, and Financials sectors led shares higher.

Top Performers on S&P/ASX 200

The top performer of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 was Mesoblast Ltd, which rose 7.26% to trade at 0.96 at the close. Codan Ltd added 4.57% to end at 4.35, and Pilbara Minerals Ltd was up 4.52% to 4.16 in late trade.

Worst Performers on S&P/ASX 200

The session's worst performers were Kogan.com Ltd, which fell 3.83% to trade at 4.02 at the close. Gold Road Resources Ltd declined 2.99% to end at 1.78, and Westgold Resources Ltd was down 2.63% to 1.11.

Commodities Update

In commodities trading, gold futures for February delivery were up 0.25% to $1,883.65 per troy ounce. Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.08% to $77.47 per barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.10% to $82.75 per barrel.
