Andrew Tate and Co-Accused Detained on Human Trafficking Charges

Romanian anti-organized crime prosecutors detained internet personality Andrew Tate, his brother, and two other suspects on December 29th on charges of forming a criminal gang to exploit six women sexually.

A court has ruled that the suspects will remain in custody until February 27th.Tate and his co-accused have denied any wrongdoing.

Investigation Leads to Seizure of 18 Million Lei ($3.96 Million)
As part of the investigation, Romanian authorities seized goods and money worth 18 million lei ($3.96 million).

Andrew Tate's Notoriety

Tate, an ex-contestant on the U.K. reality show 'Big Brother,' gained notoriety for misogynistic remarks and hate speech. His remarks got him banned from all major social media platforms, although his Twitter account became active again in November after Elon Musk acquired the platform. Tate, who holds U.S. and British nationality, has said that women are partially responsible for being raped and belong to men.
